Red Lake Expert Joins Golden Goliath Advisory Board

May 7, 2019

Vancouver, May 7, 2019, Golden Goliath Resources Ltd. (TSX.V  GNG ) (US: GGTH-F)

The Company is very pleased to announce that Mr. Andreas Lichtblau MSc, P.Geo has joined the Advisory Board of Golden Goliath.  Mr Lichtblau recently retired after being the Red Lake District Geologist for the last 18 years. As a leading expert on the region, Mr. Lichtblau will be a very valuable asset for Golden Goliaths exploration and property acquisitions throughout Ontario.

Andreas comes to us after successful careers in industry and government. After 20 years working for international and junior mining companies in Québec, Manitoba, Nunavut and Ontario, Andreas joined the Ontario Government as Regional Resident Geologist for Red Lake and Kenora.

While working in industry his duties and accomplishments included

  • managing multi-million dollar projects in NW Ontario, Québec and Manitoba
  • led a team that discovered the Ansil massive sulphide deposit in Rouyn-Noranda, which went into production in the 1980s
  • as Chief Mine Geologist at the Lac Shortt gold mine, he conducted a study of underground and mill sampling methods which was then successfully used to better predict mill head-grade and quantity of gold mined

Since 2000, Andreas has resided in Red Lake, Ontario, as Regional Resident Geologist with the Ministry of Energy, Northern Development and Mines, until retiring in 2019. In this capacity he

  • applied sound geological theories and principles to provide professional, technical advice and information to various mineral investment stakeholders
  • ensured mineral resource values were kept accessible for exploration and development by participating in Community-based Land Use Planning committees, especially in the Far North
  • liaised with First Nations to increase mineral sector capacity through workshops, information sessions and prospector courses

As the OGS Red Lake District geologist, Mr. Lichtblau provided professional, technical advice and information on the districts’ geology, mineral potential and mining activity to various stakeholder groups through the creation of posters and original slideshows at numerous symposia and conferences. He also compiled and edited submissions to the Recommendations for Exploration booklet for a number of years and it has now grown in size and is one of the two premier publications of the Resident’s Program

Golden Goliath CEO Paul Sorbara had this to say. “I am extremely pleased that Andreas is joining our Advisory Board. He has a wealth of knowledge on the geology and mineralization of the Red Lake District that is invaluable.  Golden Goliath has built a first rate team and I have great confidence in our combined abilities working for the Company.  Our exploration plans are being developed and the permitting process is underway. I believe we could become a major player in the region. “

“Andreas and I were classmates at U of T, graduating in 1976.  Our senior consulting geologist, Wayne Holmstead P.Geo, was another member of our U of T geology class of 76. It has taken us 43 years to get the opportunity to work together and now that this is possible we intend to make our profs proud. I have also known and worked with Gordon MacKay, another member of our Advisory Board, since the early 1980ʻs. We may have to make him an honorary member of our class of 76.”

Apart from Exploration in Ontario, the Company is still involved in Mexico. Through its wholly owned and funded Mexican Subsidiary, Minera Delta S.A. de C.V., the Company owns 100% of its San Timoteo property in Chihuahua and the net smelter royalties from the 7 recently optioned properties, as well as the La Cruz property, which lies in another area of the State.
